Template style quiz

Answer five short questions and get three invitation templates that suit the occasion and the mood.

Choosing a template from a grid of nine is harder than it looks, because the right one depends on the occasion more than on the colours. This quiz asks what you are celebrating, the mood you want, the colour direction, how formal the event is and whether you want a photo.

The answers are scored against the same template records the /templates page renders. There is no separate quiz catalogue and no invented recommendation: the three results are real InviteVia templates, each linking to its own page or to the builder with the template already selected.

Five questions

What are you celebrating?
Which mood should the invitation have?
Which colour mood do you prefer?
How formal is the event?
Do you want a photo on the invitation?

This only breaks ties — the template metadata does not record photo support.

5 questions left.

How to use it

  1. 1Answer the five questions. Every answer is a single choice and nothing is submitted to a server.
  2. 2The result shows exactly three templates, ranked by occasion first and style second.
  3. 3Open a template's page to read what it is good at, or start the builder with that template preselected.
  4. 4The answers are written into the page URL so you can bookmark or share the result. Opening the same link returns the same three templates.
  5. 5Retake the quiz with a different mood — the results update immediately and the URL updates with them.

How the maths works

Each template is scored on the fields that already describe it: its supported event types, its cover and accent colours, its decoration and its formality. The occasion carries the most weight, because a layout built for a formal ceremony is a poor fit for a child's birthday no matter how well the colours match.

The template metadata has no photo-support flag, so the photo question is used only as a tie-break between templates that already score equally. The page reports that limitation rather than pretending the metadata knows something it does not.

No answer is stored. The shareable URL contains only the five answers (for example ?event=wedding&vibe=classic&color=warm&formality=formal&photo=either), and the scoring runs again in the browser when the link is opened.

  • Occasion match: 6 points
  • Mood match: 3 points
  • Colour match: 2 points
  • Formality match: 2 points
  • Photo preference: 1 point, only as a tie-break

A worked example

The default answers — a formal classic wedding with warm colours and no strong photo preference — return:

Change the occasion to birthday and the ranking changes before any colour preference is considered — the occasion is weighted to dominate. The quiz still returns three templates, even when none was designed for the exact occasion.

Frequently asked questions

How are the three templates chosen?

Every template in the InviteVia registry is scored on its supported event types, its colours, its decoration and its formality, then the top three are shown. The occasion carries the most weight, so a template designed for your kind of event always outranks one that merely matches a colour.

Can I share my result?

Yes. The five answers are written into the page URL, and no account or storage is involved. Opening the same link runs the same scoring in the browser and shows the same three templates.

Do I need an account to use the quiz?

No. The quiz runs entirely in your browser, there is no sign-up, and nothing you answer is uploaded or saved.

What if I do not like the three results?

Retake it with a different mood or colour direction, or browse the full grid on /templates. The quiz is a shortcut to a shortlist, not a restriction on what you can use.

Does the photo question really change the result?

Only as a tie-break. The template records do not include a photo-support field, so the quiz does not pretend to know which layouts handle images better. Occasion, mood, colour and formality decide the ranking first.

Ready to send the invitation itself?

InviteVia turns your plan into a digital invitation with RSVP collection, guest messaging and a link you can share or print as a QR code.

These figures are planning rules of thumb, not quotes or guarantees. Rates are editable defaults, and your venue or caterer may use different ones — treat the output as a starting point for a conversation. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
