- Use the monogram for initials only. A monogram holding more than two or three letters starts to read like a company logo.
- Write both sets of names in the same style. Mixing "Dr Sarah Whitfield and Mr James Okonjo" with an informal form of address makes the page feel inconsistent.
- Put the time on its own line, above the venue. Guests scan for the hour first, and this layout gives it clean room to sit alone.
- Keep the dress code short and concrete — "Black tie", "Lounge suits", "Festive, with comfortable shoes for the garden" — rather than a sentence about what looks nice.
